The easiest way of placing an order is the so-called One click trader thanks to which, all you need to do is simply choose whether to enter the market on “buy” or “sell”. This feature can be found on each instrument from your watchlist. However, after clicking on the “sell” or “buy” button, more elaborate features will appear even before sending your order to the market.

The first of these features is position size. No matter how big a position you choose, cTrader will automatically count the estimated amount of margin that will need to be blocked for your trade. Another feature will give you a more in-depth insight into your potential loss. Which you will achieve by checking the stop-loss field. It’s mostly these features that will prevent you from doing one of the most frequent traders’ mistakes - overt risking due to the unknown size of the position being placed.

While placing your order you can also set how many pips you are willing to risk on your trade and cTrader will automatically calculate the potential loss. So all you have to do in the chart is measure the amount of possible loss in pips since your entry and then go back to the volume of the trade and modify the size of the position until you are satisfied with the amount of loss you are willing to suffer. No difficult manual calculations, no need to know the precise size of each pip on each instrument.

In case you miss the right stop loss level and don’t manage to place it directly above/under the level of important support, you can change it directly in the chart by clicking on SL. A potential loss and profit will also be displayed. This can come in handy especially when you’re commuting and notice that the market is going in your direction. You can simply open a chart, modify the SL or TP level, and manage your risk in the same professional way as you would on your PC.
